About the Artist...

I’m Rosie, an artist based in Devon, UK whose paintings are solely inspired by the expressive and unpredictable movements of the sea. I mainly work with oil paints, painting onto calico or canvas that I have stretched over constructed frames.

After graduating in the middle of a national lockdown, I found myself looking for inspiration to develop my painterly practice. I have always been drawn towards the landscape around me and felt that I'd never truly delved into the beauty of the sea that I live so close to.

I soon realised that this was the subject I had been looking for, something so calming and mesmerizing- this is what I wanted my paintings to be.

Each new painting is a challenge I look forward to work on.
